Dawn Of The
Dead-Just
added!
Horror/zombie gore-fest
Bordering on hilarious, 'Dawn Of The Dead' follows on from the
unbearably dated 'Night Of The Living Dead'. This third sequel to the low
budget zombie-fest hurtles along at a much more blisteringly fast pace
than the original, opening with a bloody shootout. Attempting to escape
the terrible zombie-horror, a small group of survivors flee in a
helicopter and eventually hold-up in a colossal shopping mall. The
shuffling zombies are not their only problem, though, when a gang of
pie-wielding bikers gatecrash the party. The gore is intense, the music
is hilariously inappropriate and the scares are somewhat less than
terrifying, 'Dawn of The Dead', like 'Evil Dead', is filled with black
humour, great tidal-waves of gore and hilariously over-the-top acting. If
the original scores a '6' on the scale of one to ten, this scores a
definite '11'.

Deep Blue Sea
Horror
Samuel L. Jackson stars only for a short period of time in this slightly
disappointing action-horror about a bunch of genetically-enhanced sharks
who are super-intelligent. Very stupid, but quite entertaining all the
same.

Deep Rising
Action Horror
Low-budget sea-monster gore-fest in which a greedy cruise ship owner
gets more than he bargained for when committing a little insurance fraud.
Hired to destroy the luxury cruise-liner, a group of soldiers get aboard
the ship, but someone, or more appropriately, "some thing" has beaten them
to it. Quite horrific, extremely entertaining and very silly.

Desperado
Western (kinda)
Robert Rodriguez's explosively violent western follows Antonio Banderas,
who is on the hunt for the man who killed his "true love". 'Desperado'
boasts an all-star cast, including Steve "Mr. Pink" Buscemi, Salma
"vampire-stripper" Hayek and Quentin "Mr. Brown" Tarantino, and a "massive
FX budget", ensuring that 'Desperado' is a hugely entertaining
action-western.

Die Hard With
a Vengence
Action thriller
Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson team up for this surprisingly good
action thriller in which Hans' (The baddie from Die Hard) brother turns up
with a thirst for revenge by playing a little game of 'Simon Says'. But
what is he really after? Superior to the embarrassing sequel.

D-Tox
Thriller/Horror
Sylvester Stallone stars in this dire slasher-thriller in which a group
of police officers are pursued, tortured and murdered by a crazy
cop-killer. After Stallone's girlfriend's head is drilled in and she is
hung from the ceiling, he is sent to a rehabilitation centre, but someone
has followed him along...
Cue bloody deaths, intense chase-sequences and some very disturbing scenes
right from the outset, but 'D-tox' is unoriginal, un-scary and another
turkey for Stallone's movie oven.
