Thank you for Visiting Pulse Cinema.

Pulse cinema is a new website devoted to the extreme world of action and horror, bringing you reviews of some of the     greatest (and inevitably, some of the worst) pieces of intense and exciting cinema ever, including the notorious 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' and the superbly twisted world of 'Reservoir Dogs'.  Be warned, virtually none of the films featured on this site are for the faint hearted.

First of all I would like to begin with an apology.  Formerly 'actionmovies', www.pulsecinema.tk has undergone a complete redesign, and as a result, the site has been left without any updates for weeks.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

From now onwards, reviews are added here every week, so don't forget to check regularly for new additions.

Dawn Of The Dead Reviewed!

So what makes a good action movie?

Well, first of all you need a good plot, something that's clever and unpredictable- such as The Way of the Gun. And then, of course, you need action. Well, violence, really, but that's such a harsh word to use, even though violence is the epicentre of most of today's thrillers and adventure movies. But, without violence, would these films really be any good? Can you really see Cyrus The Virus having a polite debate with the Con Air security guards on whether they should be set free or not? Or how about the monsters in Gremlins causing mayhem over a nice, calm game of chess? Maybe Fred Krueger could have made friends with everyone instead of ripping them to shreds?
Let's face it; watching films like these would be about as entertaining as watching paint dry. That kind of ultra slow drying paint. You see, violence manages to do something amazing to the world of movies; it manages to make them exciting.

Thrills. It's all about thrills. Whether it means watching in amazement as a full aeroplane comes crashing down into the heart of a busy Las Vegas or viewing your worst nightmare come to life in Nightmare on Elm Street, if it hasn't got the excitement, it's a failure.

What do the ratings mean?

I have decided to changed the ratings system from a 'five stars' system to a 'percentages' system, allowing more accurate ratings.

0-10...................................Indicates an unwatchable film that should never be seen by anyone.
10-20.................................A film scoring this low is extremely poor and not at all worth purchasing.
20-30.................................20-30 indicates a poor movie which has some serious faults.
30-40.................................Could be worth renting, but this is a below average title.
40-50.................................Strictly on the back-end of average.  Not worth more than a few quid.
50-60.................................Better than average.  Definitely one to rent, maybe even a purchase.
60-70.................................Indicates a good film which is by all means enjoyable.
70-80.................................A very entertaining movie.  Worth purchasing, definitely.
80-90.................................80-90 indicates a superb movie which should be in everybody's collection.
90-100...............................Essential.

Or, if you'd prefer....

0-10...................................Scream Bloody Murder
10-20.................................Beast
20-30.................................The Haunting
30-40.................................Virus
40-50.................................Jeepers Creepers
50-60.................................Independence day
60-70.................................Robocop
70-80.................................The Sixth Sense
80-90.................................Reservoir Dogs
90-100...............................The Usual Suspects
